BUSINESSES – SIDEWALK GUIDELINES
In efforts to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for our paid vendors and festival attendees as well as keep a safe environment for pedestrians, the following guidelines have been put into place:

  • The Sidewalk is not usable space for vending without proper permitting and insurance and acceptance in writing from the AoA Coordinator, James Allan Tucker (heptapus@hotmail.com).
  • You MUST leave enough room on the sidewalk for a pedestrian and a wheel chair to move by side by side unencumbered (a 5′ minimum is required by the City of Tacoma)
  • If a business wishes to showcase more items than they have room for on their sidewalk they will need to purchase a vendor space (available to all 6th Ave business district members at a discounted rate of $75–please note that you are a district member on your application form). (https://on6thave.org/art-on-the-ave/vendor-information/)
  • Volunteers and Tacoma Police Department will be onsite to keep the sidewalks free and clear.

BEER GARDENS

Beer Garden Rates
The cost for hosting a beer garden will be $250.00.

State Liquor & Cannabis Board (WSLCB), diagram of your beer garden entrance/exit w/footprint, a security plan and copy of your insurance policy with City of Tacoma and 6th Ave Business District listed as an additional insured. If you need help sorting through this James is willing to help you through the process. You can reach out to James at heptapus@hotmail.com. Please note that all the information above is required on or before 6/30 to be approved.

ART ON THE AVE 2016 had the biggest turn out we have seen yet. Keeping this in mind we are preparing for the same crowd if not more for AoA 2017. We are taking adding more porta potty facilities throughout the festival footprint, as well as increasing the number of garbage and recycling containers.

NEW THIS YEAR: Sculpture Garden! University of Puget Sound has generously agreed to let us showcase student work at AoA.

We need your help! We want to hear your voice and encourage any and all to attend our weekly meetings held in the studio space next door to Happy Belly downtown 1122 Market St. at 7pm on Thursdays.
